November 2010 Bridleways on to the Moors at Nancledra is shortly to be repaired by Cornwall Council and also the brdileways near Tredavoe, Paul. - All have been in a dangeropus condition owing to rain damage.

September 2007 - County Council have installed an iron gate to allow horse riders access to the Men-an-Tol Track - ofiicially it is is only a definitive footpath.

June 29 2007 - The BHS is urging all horse riders to contact there local MP and ask for there support in expanding the coastal access plans to include all access for all non-motorised users. See Coastal Access

June 2007 - New Web Site Feature - Grid reference of every bridleway now shown together with easy reporting - AND now with MAPPING! - Bridleway Reports.

May 2007 - The County Council have published the Draft Countryside Access Strategy for Cornwall (incoporating Rights of WAy Improvement Plan)

Please do read it carefully. We have contributed and worked hard to get a good deal for horse riders, but getting firm commitments has been very hard. However definitive map problems, anomalies, and omissions have been recognised. These are the issues that are of great importance to riders.

19 March 2007 Horse Around Number 20 Issued

17 March 2007 Both St Hilary paths are currently open again.

14 March 2007 Byways in St Hilary temporarily Blocked - access to two byways blocked by gates on undesignated part of the path. Although legally nothing could immediately be done - the County Council have been very helpful. We are looking into getting the paths legally defined along the whole route(s).

14 March 2007 Friendship Woods St Hilary - Kissing Gates have been installed by the landowner (St Aubyn Estates) after liaison with the County Council on the top access to stop nuisance, and environmental damage to the sensitive site (above the woods) by motor bikes. The entrance to the woods themselves, opposite the campsite in unaffected at the moment. The only access to the woods protected by law is on foot. There could be historic and unrecorded rights for other users.

5 March 2007 County Council has restored some lovely bridleways on the downs at Porthgwarra, St Levan, they are worth a visit.

February 2007 Men-an-Tol - The boulder has been moved back again on the main access track making it too dangerous to attempt to get through. The County Council were going to fit a horse friendly gate (although it is only designated as a footpath) but it had been overlooked. We have alerted the County Council hopefully this issue will be resolved again soon

Most of the BW reports for Penwith are completed - BUT more uptodate information and comments are wanted.
